Cladding the Bacolod Philippines Temple Tower

Stone cladding of the Bacolod Philippines Temple is growing closer to completion, as cladding panels progress up the steeple. Along the top of the parapet walls, several urns have been installed as decorative architectural elements. The temple stands on Bacolod Airport Access Road, a highly traveled roadway that leads from Bacolod to the Bacolod-Silay International Airport.

Work Progressing on Both Steeples of the Lindon Utah Temple

Crates of granite panels have been lifted to the roof of the Lindon Utah Temple in preparation for cladding the north and south steeples. On the east side of the building, scaffolding has been removed, decorative spandrel panels have been installed, and planters are taking shape on the ground. Landscaping of the front plaza is making substantial progress while some trees and shrubs have been planted in the rear plaza area.

Cladding the South Side of the Fort Worth Texas Temple

On the south side of the Fort Worth Texas Temple, stone masons are making progress on cladding the exterior of the holy edifice. Construction, which has been underway for just over a year, is moving forward quickly. Next to the temple, a meetinghouse has been wood framed, and the exterior is being weatherproofed. The driveway apron and curbing have been poured.

Modules and Windows Installed for the San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple

Prefabricated modules have been installed on the foundation for the San Luis Potosí Mexico Temple, located approximately 265 miles (426 kilometers) northwest of Mexico City. Glass windows have been installed in the openings, enclosing the structure and allowing interior finish work to move forward. Construction on the project began 8 months ago with a groundbreaking ceremony held in March.

Exterior Floodlighting of the Nairobi Kenya Temple Operational

The floodlighting system for the Nairobi Kenya Temple is operational, creating a beacon of light in this metropolitan area of over 5 million children of God. Near the end of His ministry, Jesus Christ taught: "Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light."

Scaffolding Erected Around the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple Tower

Scaffolding has been erected around the steeple frame of the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple in preparation for sheathing and stone cladding. Cladding of the main body of the temple is underway and will continue over the coming months. Plans to construct the temple were announced at the April 2021 general conference. The groundbreaking was held two years ago at the end of October 2022.

Groundbreaking Event Held for the Tarawa Kiribati Temple

"Today’s breaking of the ground is symbolic of planting a giant coconut or breadfruit seed. It will produce the greatest harvest we have seen or can conceive for generations to come," said Elder Jeremy R. Jaggi, General Authority Seventy, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tarawa Kiribati Temple on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He warmly greeted His Excellency Taneti Maamau, President of Kiribati and First Lady Madam Teiraeng Maamau who were in attendance. The proceedings were broadcast live to meetinghouses, allowing all members to participate. Elder Jaggi promised, "The temple that will be built in this spot will provide great protection from the storms of life."

Missoula Montana Temple Site Location Revealed

The site location for the Missoula Montana Temple has been revealed as a 5.08-acre site located at the corner of Old Bitterroot Road and Lower Miller Creek Road on the southern side of Missoula. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 19,000 square feet with an accompanying ancillary building. It will be the third temple built in Montana. Detailed design plans continue. No rendering has been released, and no groundbreaking date has been scheduled.

Location Announced for the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple

The location of the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple has been announced as a 18.6-acre site located south of the intersection of Flying Horse Club Drive and Barossa Valley Road in the Northgate neighborhood of Colorado Springs. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 45,000 square feet, a meetinghouse, and a grounds maintenance building. It will be the fourth temple constructed in the state of Colorado.

Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple Monument Sign

Stone panels have been installed on the monument sign in front of the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple that are inscribed with the Spanish names for the Church and the temple. Rounded curbing and an irrigation stub can be seen in front of the sign where flowers will be planted and a light fixture installed. Scaffolding remains in front of the portico where the exterior cladding is being finalized.

Trek to the Temple Activity in Grand Junction

Members of the Grand Junction Colorado West Stake recently participated in a "Trek to the Temple" activity on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Grand Junction Colorado Temple site. Volunteers wiped down the entire fence and swept the concrete mow strip and curbing. In the visitors' trailer, 138 cards were written for delivery to the subcontractors. The missionary couple provided lots of information that was well received.

Refurbishment of the Salt Lake Temple Spires Is Completed

Refurbishment of the six spires atop the Salt Lake Temple has been completed. As scaffolding is removed, the beautifully restored towers are being revealed. In early 2020, over 6,000 stones were removed, cataloged, and stored. Steel plates were used to create internal caps for the spires, providing greater seismic resistance. Before each stone was returned to its original location, it was meticulously cleaned and secured to the underlying steel structure.

Construction Activity Underway for the Cody Wyoming Temple

Construction activity is getting underway at the Cody Wyoming Temple site. A chain-link fence has been erected, an office trailer is on site, and heavy equipment has begun the site preparations. The white prefabricated modules that will be used to build the temple arrived in Cody in the summer of 2023. They were staged next to the temple site almost a year later in May 2024. Once the foundation is in place, the modules will be attached.

Burley Idaho Temple President and Matron Called

Paul Kenji Tateoka and Nadine Lani Tsutae Saito Tateoka of the Paul Idaho Stake will serve as the first president and matron of the Burley Idaho Temple. President Tateoka is a temple ordinance worker and a former mission president, stake president, and bishop. Sister Tateoka is a temple ordinance worker and a former mission president companion, stake Relief Society presidency counselor, stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society president, and ward Young Women president.

President and Matron of the Farmington New Mexico Temple Called

Loyd Glen Lillywhite and Jaynann Bench Lillywhite of the Bloomfield New Mexico Stake will serve as the first temple president and matron of the Farmington New Mexico Temple. President Lillywhite is a branch president and temple ordinance worker. He was born in Farmington. Sister Lillywhite is a temple and family history consultant, ward Relief Society presidency counselor and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Salt Lake City.

Roughing in Under-Slab Plumbing for the Austin Texas Temple

At the Austin Texas Temple construction site, crews are trenching inside the excavation pit for the under-slab plumbing that will connect to the local water and sewer systems. Heavy machinery continues to grade and level the surrounding soil where footings will be poured for the main temple structure. The Austin suburb of Cedar Park, where the temple is located, incorporated in 1973 with a population of less than 2,000 people. Today, there are more than 75,000 residents.

Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple Taking Shape

Church members who attend the meetinghouse next to the Kaohsiung Taiwan Temple site enjoy a clear view of the construction progress. Wall forms are still in place for the structural walls while the concrete cures. The temple is located in the Niaosong District on the east side of Kaohsiung. Construction began 11 months ago when Elder Benjamin M. Z. Tai spoke of the "remarkable legacy of faith and dedication" of the early Church members in southern Taiwan.

Elevator Shafts Rising on the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple Site

Recent aerial photographs of the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple give a sense of the large footprint being constructed for the building. Concrete footings are being formed and poured, and three elevator shafts are rising on the west end. Two rooms and a hallway have been created below the level of the footings for housing and accessing the baptismal fonts.

Burley Idaho Temple Entrance Plaza Receives Local Touch

Natural stone from nearby Oakley, Idaho, was recently used to face the walls surrounding the entrance plaza to the Burley Idaho Temple. The temple, which has been under construction for nearly 29 months, is nearing completion. A local communication director for the Church estimates that keys could be transferred from the general contractor back to the Church by early next year. However, no indication has been given as to when the open house and dedication will occur.

Forming Continues for the Wichita Kansas Temple Foundation

Concrete footings continue to be formed for the foundation of the Wichita Kansas Temple, located in a beautiful new development in Northwest Wichita. Construction of the temple began less than two months ago in early September 2024. The Greater Wichita region is known as the Air Capital of the World, as it is home to some of the world's largest aerospace manufacturers and to the National Institute for Aviation Research.

Inscription Stone Installed on the Montpelier Idaho Temple

The inscription stone has been hung over the arched entryway in the front portico of the Montpelier Idaho Temple, designating the sacred structure as The House of the Lord. Cladding of the tower base parapet walls has begun, and much of the steeple has been completed. Work is underway at the front of the building in preparation for the entrance hardscape. On the north side of the property, asphalt has been paved in the parking area.

Open House and Rededication Announced for the Toronto Ontario Temple

The newly renovated Toronto Ontario Temple will be rededicated by President Jeffrey R. Holland, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The rededication will be broadcast to all units in the Toronto Ontario Temple district. Prior to the rededication, a media day will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025. Invited guests will tour the temple the following two days. The temple will then be open to the public for tours from Thursday, February 13, through Saturday, March 8, 2025 (excluding Sundays).

Open House Dates Announced for the Auckland New Zealand Temple

Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the Auckland New Zealand Temple on Sunday, April 13, 2025. A media event will be held on Monday, February 24, followed by two days of tours for invited guests. The public is invited to tour the temple from Thursday, February 27, through Saturday, March 22, 2025 (excluding Sundays). The temple will be the second in New Zealand.

Preliminary Construction to Begin at the Cali Colombia Temple Site

Signage has been posted on the gates of the former French high school, Liceo Francés Paul Valery, where the Cali Colombia Temple will be constructed. The sign announces the commencement of preliminary construction, which will begin in January and conclude by August of next year. The project will prepare the property for construction of the temple by removing the structures on site and clearing and grading the land.

News Conference Held for the Tallahassee Florida Temple Open House

A news conference and tour of the Tallahassee Florida Temple was held for members of the media on Monday, October 28, 2024. In attendance were Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Elders Kevin R. Duncan, Steven R. Bangerter, Ahmad S. Corbitt and Massimo De Feo of the Seventy; and several local Church leaders. The temple features representations of magnolia flowers in the art glass, carpeting, paint patterns, and other design details. The public is invited to tour the temple from Monday, November 4 through Saturday, November 23, 2024, excluding Sundays. Take a virtual tour.

Cladding of the Knoxville Tennessee Temple Underway

Just nine months into construction, cladding of the Knoxville Tennessee Temple has begun. Hanging brackets have been attached to a weatherproofed section of the exterior, and the first stone veneer panels have been hung. Framing of the building's upper structures continues where the steeple framework is in place. The temple is the third house of the Lord to be constructed in Tennessee.

Scaffolding Removed from the Ephraim Utah Temple Steeple

Scaffolding has been removed from the west end of the Ephraim Utah Temple, giving construction observers an unobstructed view of the newly clad steeple with its shiny gold dome. Cladding installers are filling in sections of the nearly completed south wall while work gets underway on the north wall, starting along the base. Cladding of the east and west walls will follow. Construction of the temple began two years ago.

Looking West Toward the Alabang Philippines Temple

Remnants of Alabang's rural past can be seen among the high-rise residential and commercial buildings that have replaced the once vast pastureland. The Alabang Philippines Temple stands in Filinvest City, a major business district in Alabang. Plans for the temple were announced in April 2017, and a groundbreaking was held in June 2020. Construction of the house of the Lord is expected to completed next year.

President Nelson to Dedicate the Deseret Peak Utah Temple

President Russell M. Nelson will dedicate the Deseret Peak Utah Temple on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He will be accompanied by Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The dedication will take place at 4 p.m. MST and will be broadcast to local meetinghouses within the temple district. The dedication will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. MST the same evening. The milestone event marks the Church’s 200th temple in operation worldwide. "Why are we building temples at such an unprecedented pace?" said the prophet at the October 2024 general conference. "Because the Lord has instructed us to do so. The blessings of the temple…help to prepare a people who will help prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord!"

Modesto California Temple Designed with Scores of Arches

From the windows and doorways to the steeple and parapets, arches are found throughout the Modesto California Temple. A famous arch has stood in Modesto for over a century at the intersection of 9th and I Streets. Known as the Modesto Arch, the landmark bears the city's motto: Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health. It is illuminated by 696 incandescent light bulbs. The temple has been under construction for just over a year.
