Temple Announcement

On April 7, 2024, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Rosario Argentina Temple at the 194th Annual General Conference. Rosario is located in east-central Argentina, approximately 190 miles northwest of Buenos Aires. The temple will be the seventh in Argentina, joining the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple, Buenos Aires Argentina Temple, Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple, Córdoba Argentina Temple, Mendoza Argentina Temple, and Salta Argentina Temple. Two German immigrants began preaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in 1923 in Argentina. At the time of the temple announcement, it was home to more than 480,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 725 congregations.1
